Was born and bred,
In the clouds, upon a ship.
He was born to a maid,
Who was stole on a raid,
By a pirate hunting trip.
Her name was Bloody Sally,
And she served in the galley,
Where she fell in love with death.
He wooed her on a date,
And then was sealed her fate,
As he lay upon her, with ice cold breath.
Poor old Sally,
Gone before her time.
And as she croaked,
Out was born,
Dread,
In skeleton form.
A living baby,
A ghost of bone,
Fathered by Death,
Although unknown…
…to him.
He rose to Captain,
By the time he was ten,
His touch was deadly,
Which he proved time again.
Ole Captain Dread,
Was born and bred,
In the clouds, upon a ship.
He plundered gold,
A sly young pirate teen,
So Brave and strong,
And also extremely mean.
Ole Captain Dread,
Was born half dead,
In the clouds, upon a ship.
Oh Dread he was feared,
By his very own crew,
So they came to rebel,
And short lots they drew,
To find the one,
To take Dread down,
And they found a boy,
Named Billy-Bear Brown.
Ole Captain Dread,
With a skull for a head,
High in the clouds above.
Quaking was Billy,
Named bear as a joke,
But the rebellious lot,
Shoved him out with a poke,
Now Dread was twenty-three,
When his crew did mutiny,
And those cowardly fools,
Led a boy to break rules,
So he went to his Cap’
And kicked him over…
…just like that.
Ole Captain Dread,
Now he’s fully dead,
In a clump of bones,
That lay upon the ground.
